New research carried out by Dr. Neil Stanley of the University of Surrey, suggests that couples who share a bed have a worse nights sleep than people who sleep alone. Partners disturb one another in their sleep by snoring, teeth grinding, tossing and turning or taking more than their fair share of the duvet.
Prior to the industrial revolution, it was uncommon for couples to share a bed. And the concept was only introduced to most families as a space saving exercise.
Dr Stanley noted that a standard 4′ 6″ double bed leaves each adult with 9” less than a child enjoys in a single bed.
If you suffer from partner disturbance it is advisable to choose the biggest bed possible. Pocket Spring Bed Company Beds are available in 5′ King Size and 6′ Super King Size.
